Recalibration on October 23

I've always been a bit of a lyrical perfectionist, overthinking every line in regards to how I'm expressing myself and what messages I'm sending. In this album (due in part to the fact that many of these songs were originally commissioned by a sync agency, which threw a bit of a wrench in my creative process and ultimately didn’t work out) I tried to let go a little and be guided more by vibes than intellectual accuracy. The result is what I believe to be a collection of songs that are still deeply personal, but lean slightly more fun and curious than confessional.

Since my sophomore album in 2019, I found myself pursuing a pattern involving rainbow colors and number of words in my album titles. “Purple Door” & “Indebted to Blue” were coincidences, but from then on — “Painting the Bathroom Green,” “Scribbled Pleas on Yellowed Keys,” “Apples to Oranges, Dust to Dust,” “only some of the roses are red” — I carried out the pattern with intention. For this album, there was no overarching vision, no template, no constraints, just me and some songs and the start of a new era (or perhaps a transition into something new which is yet to be pinned down).

I’m releasing three singles ahead of time, two of which are already out!

• Interact with promo videos I share on social media, even if it’s just a quick like. Social media algorithms are being really tough on independent artists this year in particular, so any likes, comments, shares, etc. helps my content reach more of my followers without me having to pay for ads.

• When the album comes out, stream the songs, share them online or with friends, add them to your playlists, or use your favorite song in a reel or TikTok. Tag me & I’ll repost whatever I can!
